Koch Industries said Wednesday it will begin construction this fall on the expansion of its Wichita headquarters.
The project will include construction of a new 210,000-square-foot office building on the northwest side of its campus on 37th Street North between Oliver and Hillside. The new building will have three stories plus a lower level and the capacity for 745 employees.
“This is an exciting time for us and for Wichita as we add the office capacity and other infrastructure to accommodate the next phase of Koch Industries’ growth,” said Dave Robertson, president and chief operating officer of Koch Industries, in a news release.
Koch said Hutton Construction will be the construction manager along with partner GE Johnson. Howard + Helmer is the architect, and Professional Engineering Consultants is the engineer.

Completion of the building is expected in mid-2015.
To accommodate the new building along with additional parking and possible future growth, work will begin in mid-June to re-route 37th Street North about one-quarter mile north of its current location. The existing street will remain unchanged, however, until the fall, when the new street section is finished.
The new building will have training space and a satellite cafe, and it will be connected to other Koch buildings through tunnels and walkways.
Koch’s current campus includes more than 1 million square feet of building space.
The company said it has more than 2,900 employees in Wichita.
