A revised report said Tuesday that economic activity in the Wichita area was down in March compared with February, but was still up from March 2012.
The Wichita State University Revised Wichita Area Metropolitan Indices said the WSU Current Conditions Index in March was 92.6, down 0.2 percent from February, but up 1.2 percent from 91.5 in March 2012.
The Current Conditions Index comprises total non-farm employment, the unemployment rate, hours of production employees and earnings of production employees.
The WSU Leading Conditions Index, aimed at predicting area economic activity over the next six months, was 93.1 in March, down from 93.4 in February but up from 92.3 in March 2012.

Components of the Leading Conditions Index include state and national leading indexes, aircraft production and national industrial production.
