Sprint launches 4G service in Wichita

Sprint, the nation’s third largest wireless carrier, said Monday it has launched its fourth-generation long term evolution, or 4G LTE, service in Wichita.

Wichita was among five markets in which 4G service started this week. The others are Lawrence; Topeka; Waukegan-Lake County, Ill.; and Barnstable-Hyannis/Mid-Cape, Mass.

Sprint said it has launched its 4G LTE service in 19 cities and plans to have the service available in more than 100 cities in the U.S. in the coming months.
