Nine Wichita women CPAs recognized in statewide awards

Nine certified public accountants from Wichita are among 19 women from across the state who have been nominated for the Kansas Society of CPAs 2012 Women to Watch awards.

Awards are given in two categories: Experienced leaders, which include partners, owners or members; and emerging leaders, CPAs who have not yet reached the highest level of advancement but contribute to the profession and their communities.

The four CPAs from Wichita nominated as experienced leaders are: Denise Denning of Grant Thornton; Shelly Hammond of Allen, Gibbs & Houlik; Christina Ricke of Kennedy and Coe; and Robyn Seglem of Law-Kingdon.

The emerging leaders nominees from the area are: Monty Allen of Kirkpatrick, Sprecker & Co.; Stephanie Bowen of Flint Hills Resources; Janice Dealy of AGH; Christine Hilton of Grant Thornton; and Chris Kibler of Intrust Bank Arena.

A winner in each category will be announced at a Sept. 21 awards luncheon in Overland Park. Nominees will also be recognized.
