Olathe company that handles government websites plans to expand

An Olathe-based company has announced its plans to expand and add up to 23 jobs next year, according to a news release issued Monday from the state Department of Commerce.

NIC Inc., which develops and manages government websites, online services and payment processing systems, currently employs more than 100 people in Kansas and nearly 700 nationwide.

Kansas Commerce Secretary Pat George said in a prepared statement he was excited to see the growth of NIC. He said the company has been cited by Forbes magazine in the past for its growth.
