Kansas lagged the nation in income growth in 2011

Per capita income in Kansas rose to $40,481 in 2011, up from $38,977 in 2010, a 3.9 percent increase, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.

That put Kansas 37th among the states.

Total personal income for the state rose 4.3 percent in 2011, placing it 42nd fastest growing among the states.
