International trade conference to be held in Pittsburg

The Kansas Department of Commerce, city of Pittsburg and Pittsburg State University are hosting an international trade networking event on April 18.

The event is open to company owners and economic development officials interested in international business. The event will give such participants an opportunity to network with active exporters and hear from federal and state officials about available resources.

At the event will be representatives from the U.S. Commercial Service, Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Speakers include company representatives from Tank Connection, a 2012 Governor’s Exporter of the Year finalist; Kansas Aviation, 2007-2008 Governor’s Exporter of the Year finalist; Raffaele DeVito, professor of international business, Emporia State University; Roger Stuart, executive vice president, Held & Associates Inc.; and Nathalie Scharf, STEP Grant manager, Kansas Department of Commerce.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to noon in the Balkans Room, Overman Student Center, Pittsburg State University, 302 E. Cleveland Ave., Pittsburg.
