Shelley Hammond, public sector team leader at Allen, Gibbs & Houlik, has been named to a select group of 14 individuals nationally who make up the American Institute of CPAs executive committee for the Governmental Audit Quality Center.

Ben Hart has joined Allen, Gibbs & Houlik’s government auditing team as a vice president.

Michele McCartney, Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center creative design manager, has been selected as one of 150 @NASA Twitter followers to attend and Tweet about the Mars Rover Launch on Nov. 23 and 25, at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Banking

Mike Babich has joined Kansas State Bank as senior vice president of commercial lending. His office is at the bank’s loan production office on North Rock Road.

Stephanie Box has joined Kansas State Bank at Kellogg and Maize Road as a mortgage loan processor.

Credit Union of America has announced the following promotions and new hires: Richard Logan has been promoted from IT manager to chief information officer;

Rob Detrick has been promoted from branch manager of the Derby and South Broadway offices to vice president for branch operations; Jason Mayer has been promoted to IT support manager; Benjamin Benedict, hired as branch manager of the Ridge Road office; Sam Grove hired as a financial analyst; and Carri Gaschler promoted to project manager.

Meritrust Credit Union has announced the following promotions and new hires: Heather Dixon and Marlene DeSantiago promoted to consumer loan processors; Melissa Howell promoted from teller I to member service associate; Cassy Kent hired as member service associate II; and Byron Stout V hired as a teller I.

Psychiatrist Semhal Abbay has joined the clinical staff Prairie View and will treat adults and older adults.

Rheumatologist Preethi Kurakula has joined Via Christi Clinic’s Murdock location.
