Jerseys Grill and Bar to open in former Johnny Carino's space near K-96 and Webb

UPDATED — Jerseys Grill and Bar is opening near K-96 and Webb in the space where Johnny Carino's closed earlier this year.

"We are going to have the biggest, best sports bar and restaurant in Wichita," says Kefford Vincent, who is managing the restaurant with an intent to become an owner.

“How ’bout that for a description?”

Vincent says he’s helped open several restaurants in the Wichita area.

“I’m tired of making other people successful,” he says. “I’m going to make myself successful.”

The restaurant, which will seat 181, will have 25 TVs and two 110-inch screen projectors. There also will be an arcade-style game room for children. Vincent says he may add a patio next year.

Jerseys will have a lot of traditional bar fare, such as cheese fries and pizza, but Vincent says there won’t be any frozen food like some bars have.

“Everything that we’re doing, we’re doing fresh,” he says.

For dinner, he says, “We’ll have everything from chicken tenders to prime rib.”

Vincent says he’s not doing a great deal of remodeling. He plans a Dec. 2 opening.
