Bioscience authority provides $225K grant for JCB Labs expansion

The Kansas Bioscience Authority has approved a $225,000 Expansion & Attraction grant for JCB Laboratories, a Wichita-based sterile pharmaceutical compounding firm.

The grant will be used for JCB's relocation to a larger facility.

In September the company said it had purchased a building at 7335 W. 33rd St. that will give it four times the space it has at its present facility at 3510 N. Ridge.

The company also plans to purchase new equipment and add 15 more employees over the next three years, at an average wage of more than $50,000.

The expansion is being funded by a $700,000 investment by JCB as well as $30,000 in forgivable loans from both Sedgwick County and the city of Wichita.

The Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition is also assisting in the expansion project.
