WICHITA — Lots of people sip wine or a cocktail while surfing the Internet.
David Keeton wants to combine the pleasure of a drink with the assistance of technology for a new business.
Keeton is one of the founders of Callcap, a 10-year-old Wichita company that helps businesses track and analyze customer calls.
Now, he's opening Extremo Vino, a liquor store at the Collective, which is J.V. Johnston’s development at 21st Street and K-96.
"The concept behind this store is it's going to be high-end wines and liquors," says public relations representative Lea Schlyer.
The twist is a software program Keeton has developed to help customers keep track of what wines they've liked and offer recommendations based on those.
"That's going to be the major difference between this store as opposed to other wine vendors," Schlyer says. "It's kind of going to have a social network feel to it, too."
Extremo Vino is going in the former PS Designs space on the west end of the Collective’s retail center along 21st Street.
