Kerr announces departure from Hutchinson/Reno Chamber

Dave Kerr announced today that he will step down as president of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce at the end of the year, as he had planned when he took the job five years ago.

Kerr said he will remain involved with the community's economic development efforts.

Chamber board chairman Rick Mitchell said he is forming a search committee to find a replacement.

Kerr, a former president of the Kansas Senate, became chamber president in January 2007. During that time, the chamber helped in landing the Siemens wind nacelle plant, consolidation and growth of Collins Bus Corp., the expansion of Kroger Accounting Services, Daymon Worldwide, Draka Cableteq, the location of Prairieland Partners headquarters and several others. The chamber has also led successful efforts to win highway improvement projects for Reno County.
