Credit Union of America plans to purchase a west-side office building that will serve as its headquarters.
The state's second-largest credit union said in a news release that the building at 650 S. Westdale will provide it 23,867 square feet of office space. The building will be used solely for internal needs and will not provide any direct member services, such as deposits or withdrawals.
CUA expects to take possession of the building, which is northeast of I-235 and Kellogg, in September. It will move about 30 staff there sometime in the fourth quarter.
The $383 million-asset credit union's current headquarters at 711 W. Douglas in Delano will remain a full-service branch.
The Kansas Credit Union Association currently occupies a portion of the building on Westdale. It is not clear what will happen to the association because of the building acquisition. Officials from CUA and the association could not be reached late Tuesday.
