Hawker Beechcraft will open a maintenance facility at New Castle Airport in Wilmington, Del., the company said today.
Hawker said the location will be a full-service maintenance, repair and overhaul facility.
Expected to open in the second quarter of 2012, it will be approximately 60,000 square feet — 40,000 square feet of hangar space, 8,500 square feet of back shop space and 10,000 square feet of office space.
"Hawker Beechcraft has a large fleet of customers residing in the Northeastern United States where we have not had a factory-owned service center in place for many years," Christi Tannahill, Hawker Beechcraft vice president for Global Customer Support, said in a release.
