Wichita City Council, on a 6-1 vote, approved a low-cost loan to renovate the facade of 1525 E. Douglas to become the new home of GLMV Architecture.
A $30,000 grant and a $500,000 loan to owner Fifteen Twenty Five LLC comes from the city's downtown facade improvement program.
The loan will be levied as special assessments against the building and backed by the city of Wichita, which will be repaid by the owners.
The entire renovation project is expected to cost $3.5 million.
