Roadrunner Transportation Systems has acquired Wichita-based M. Bruenger Trucking for approximately $10.5 million, according to a statement on Roadrunner's website.
Owner Butch Bruenger and his management team will remain with the company.
The deal includes an earn-out provision capped at $3 million if Bruenger meets performance targets. Roadrunner is headquartered in Cudahy, Wisc.
Bruenger was out of the office Wednesday afternoon and couldn't be reached for comment.
In October, Bruenger announced the sale of the company to Integrated Freight Corp. for $11 million, a deal that failed to close in November.
