Scott Poor, former executive director of the state Republican Party, said he is opening a law, planning and public affairs firm, Scott B. Poor & Associates.
The firm, in the Garvey Center, will concentrate on agribusiness, renewable energy and rural development.
Poor was named to his party office by Mark Parkinson in 2002 and served until 2004. He has since served as chief counsel for Green Plains Renewable Energy, the nation's largest publicly-traded ethanol company.
