Verizon spent $96 million in Kansas last year

Verizon Wireless said today that it spent more than $96 million upgrading its network in Kansas in 2010.

The company said the investment included adding 40 new cell sites and upgrading equipment on more than 288 cell sites to boost the coverage and capacity of its voice and 3G wireless network.

The investment also included preparing its Kansas network for the addition of 4G service.
