Ultimate Electronics declares bankruptcy

The company operating electronics retailer Ultimate Electronics filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday in the bankruptcy court in Delaware.

The 46-store chain, which has one store in Wichita, has seen a significant decline in business in recent years. Ultimate Acquisition Partners, which operates the chain, listed liabilities and assets in the range of $100 million to $500 million, according to the bankruptcy court documents.
