The Medical Society of Sedgwick County and other Kansas provider groups have secured a vendor for their planned statewide electronic health information exchange network.
Informatics Corp. of America, based in Nashville, will provide the software and support to connect the network statewide as well as portions of western Missouri.
"The Wichita medical community is excited to be a partner in the country's first provider-led health information exchange," physician Ron Brown, president of the Wichita Health Information Exchange, said in a news release.
Officials said the local health information exchange eventually will replace paper records that are currently faxed or mailed.
