Brooklyn's owner to sell Players memorabilia

Brooklyn's Chophouse and Brew Tavern owner David Chaffin is selling the sports memorabilia on the restaurant's walls that's left from when the business was Players Sports Bar & Grill.

"Sooner or later, like a lot of businesses, we're going to have to do some restructuring," Chaffin said.

Chaffin said the sale, which will be held at the restaurant, won't cover his debt.

"This is just something to help ease the pain."

He figures he has about $250,000 worth of memorabilia, such as a KU banner signed by the 1988 championship team and a robe worn by Muhammad Ali.

The memorabilia is still on the walls at 6200 W. 21st St. It will be priced in the four days leading up to the Feb. 8 sale.
