State, local medical societies choose new officers

Wichita physician Kevin Hoppock was chosen president-elect of the Kansas Medical Society at the group's recent annual meeting.

He is one of several Wichita physicians on the society's executive committee:

Steen Mortensen was elected vice speaker of the House of Delegates, Joe Davison serves as immediate past president, and Terry Poling and Joseph Meek are part of the American Medical Society delegation.

In a separate meeting, the Medical Society of Sedgwick County elected its new officers. Thomas Estep was elected president-elect; his term will begin Jan. 1, 2012. Tana Goering is vice president, Randall Morgan is secretary, and Kurt Hesse is treasurer.

Linda Francisco begins her term as president in January.
