Senior workers honored today

The Kansas Department of Commerce is recognizing older workers and the companies that employ them today at an awards ceremony in Topeka.

Local honorees include:

* Outstanding Senior Community Service Employment Program Participant: Annie Cramer, 79, of Wichita.

Local winners include:

* Senior Community Service Employment Program of Excellence: Senior Work Experience Project of Wichita - American Red Cross, Midway-Kansas Chapter.; Sheree Rueb, director.

Following the ceremony, the state will host the Older Worker Job Fair from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Big Gage Shelter House, just outside the Topeka Zoo. Confirmed participants include Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Pearson Government Solutions, Alorica and Parrish Hotels, among others.
