Kansans head to Russia to promote purebred cattle

Two Kansas ranchers will be part of marketing team that will travel to Russia later this week to promote purebred cattle.

Mark Rohr of the Lazy H Ranch in Hays and Daniel Mushrush of Mushrush Red Angus in Strong City will join Kansas Department of Commerce agriculture specialist J.J. Jones in the trip that will begin Saturday and continue through Oct. 12.

Representatives from Colorado and Montana will also be part of the team.

The group will visit Russian beef producers about U.S. beef genetics and tour farms near Moscow and Kaluga.

The team will also attend the Golden Autumn Livestock Exposition, where Rohr will take part in a panel discussion of U.S. Angus cattle.

The trip is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
