Kansas is getting some federal grant money to help producers better compete in the marketplace with their specialty crops.

Kansas Agriculture Secretary Josh Svaty says the projects will receive $282,828.

Specialty crops include things like turf grass, fruits and vegetables, nuts and nursery crops.

Recipients include Highland Community College, the Glacial Hills Resource Conservation and Development Council, the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental education and the Kansas Rural Center.
