Spirit signs multifaceted agreement with Brazilian airline

WICHITA — Spirit AeroSystems said today it has been named by a Brazilian discount airline to provide some modification and maintenance to its Boeing fleet.

Spirit will provide GOL Linhas Aereas Inteligentes some thrust reverser modification and repair services. Spirit also will partner with the Sao Paulo, Brazil-based carrier to develop composite/structural repair capabilities and support thrust reverser services at GOL's aircraft maintenance facility at Brazil's Tancredo Neves International Airport.

And GOL will purchase Spirit airframe and component parts for its Next Generation Boeing 737 and 767 fleets.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
