New orders for civilian aircraft were up 11.5 percent in August on a seasonally adjusted basis compared to the same month in 2009.
Orders for commercial and general aircraft in 2010 through August remain 81.5 percent ahead of the same eight months of 2009. Orders started out the year extremely strongly but have seen several weak months in the summer.
Deliveries in August were down 13.5 percent from July, but ahead of August 2009. For the year, deliveries were down 11 percent compared with the first eight months of 2009.
Unfilled orders for the first eight months are down 3.9 percent in 2010 compared with 2009, and inventories are up 9 percent.
