Government extends Epic leases

Five U.S. government offices have extended their leases at Wichita's Epic Center.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation extended its lease for 15 years. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Federal Public Defender's Office, the Secret Service and the Federal Mediator all signed 10-year deals.

The FBI, ATF and the public defender all plan expansions, driving the federal leases to almost 30,000 square feet, or about 10 percent of the building's available office space.

Patrick Ahern of Grubb & Ellis/Martens Commercial Group brokered the deals.
