Dennis Valenzeno is joining the staff of the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita as associate dean for basic science education.
Valenzeno is a physiology professor and researcher who was part of the KU Medical Center team in Kansas City until 2004, when he went to the University of Alaska in Anchorage to direct first-year medical education, according to KU-Wichita Dean H. David Wilson.
Valenzeno will oversee basic science education as KU-Wichita moves toward a four-year medical school. He will begin work Jan. 1.
