California company closing Manhattan call center

MANHATTAN — A California-based customer service management company plans to close one of its Kansas call centers.

Alorica said its call center in Manhattan will shut down in September. The center has more than 150 employees.

Alorica also has a call center in Topeka.

The company cited the economy and a decrease in call volume to the Manhattan location for its decision to close the center there.
