New home activity perks up in Wichita

The market for new homes in Wichita is a mixed bag, according to local builders and analysts.

Activity has picked up in some of the city's upscale subdivisions, said Wess Galyon, president of the Wichita Area Builders Association.

The story's different in some Wichita suburbs, however.

"Lots aren't moving and builders aren't building," said Ron Meyer, a Haysville developer.
