Entrepreneurship for teachers begins in June at WSU

"Entrepreneurship for Innovative Educators," a workshop designed to strengthen secondary educators' small business knowledge, will be offered from June 7 through 18 at the Wichita State University Center for Entrepreneurship.

Classes will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The three-hour graduate level course for high school teachers is designed to introduce the contemporary world of entrepreneurship and small business.

Tim Pett, director of the center, said teachers will learn how to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in the classroom and home, how to share the importance of private enterprise and how to use entrepreneurial skills at school and elsewhere.

The course will be taught by a team of university professors and local business leaders. A limited number of scholarships are available.
