A public hearing will be held Wednesday in El Dorado for a pipeline that would stretch from Canada to terminals in Oklahoma and Texas.
The hearing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, 3100 El Dorado Ave. It is part of a series of hearings along the route.
The Keystone XL is a 36-inch pipeline that would extend TransCanada's Keystone pipeline, which has already been built through Kansas, and increase its capacity to 900,000 barrels per day.
A coalition of national and local public interest, environmental and landowner groups has objected to the environmental impact statement prepared by State Department, saying it doesn't adequately address environmental risks.
