Butler County business finalist for Governor's award

WICHITA — A Butler County business has been named a finalist for the Governor's Award of Excellence, the Kansas Department of Commerce said today.

Walters' Pumpkin Patch in Burns is one of five finalists for the award, which will be presented June 29 at the Kansas Cavalry Encampment in Hays.

The 26 winners of the separate Regional Business Excellence Award include BG Products of El Dorado.

And KDOC announced 10 Wichita-area businesses won Merit Awards: Ruth's HomeWorks and Urban News, all of Wichita; D-J Engineering and Pro-Kleen, both of Augusta; Chris Cakes of Rose Hill; The Bradbury Co. of Moundridge; Retro Systems and All Saints Home Care, both of Valley Center; Flinthills Services of El Dorado; and El Dorado Public Schools.

The awards are part of Business Appreciation Month, KDOC said.
