WICHITA — Three of the 45 companies selected to present at the region's largest venture capital conference are from Wichita.
InvestMidwest will hold the annual forum March 24-25 at the Wells Fargo Advisors University Learning Center in St. Louis.
Because of an agreement with the presenting companies, officials can't disclose the names of the firms until just before the conference.
Joining the Wichita companies are firms from Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, Utah and Wisconsin.
The companies were selected largely because they have potential to reach $20 million in annual revenue within five years.
The companies are in a variety industries including alternative energy and technology.
The conference allows them to pitch business plans to venture capitalists from across the country.
InvestMidwest said that, since its inception in 2000, it has helped companies find more than $400 million in equity investments.
