HCA, parent company of Wesley Medical Center, said today that revenue was up more than 4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2009.
Revenue for the fourth quarter was $7.6 billion, up from $7.3 billion in the fourth quarter of 2008, the company said. Net income was $216 million, down from $276 million in 2008.
HCA said same-facility equivalent admissions increased 2.6 percent; surgeries were down 0.1 percent.
Fourth-quarter performance was "driven by solid inpatient, outpatient and emergency department volumes," the company said.
