February sales were down 2.4 percent at Duckwall-ALCO Stores, store officials said this morning, as intense winter weather kept customers home.
Sales decreased to $34.7 million, compared to $35.5 million in February 2009. Same store sales were down 2.9 percent, the company reported.
"February same-store sales were negatively impacted by a decrease in store traffic, primarily due to record-setting snowfall across a number of our markets," said Rich Wilson, the company's president and CEO.
