Wichita retailers were casting a wary eye on weather reports Wednesday as they geared up for today's final pre-Christmas rush.
But blizzard or not, Christmas 2009 has been a pleasant surprise for some. And by early morning today, there was no sign of weather severe enough to keep the last-day procrastinators out of local stores.
Sales have been at worst flat, in a year when rising Wichita unemployment left retailers nervous about the holiday.
