Wichita area suppliers are invited to a wind energy supply chain workshop from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Hyatt Regency in Wichita.
Topics to be discussed: the basics of wind energy systems; quality standards required by the manufacturers; challenges involved in moving into the wind energy supply chain; and overall growth trends in the wind industry.
The workshop is open to all Kansas manufacturers but is particularly aimed at those who operate a foundry, forge, machine shop or fabricating plant, or those that make power electronics, control systems, hydraulics, fasteners, brakes, blades, nacelles or supplemental equipment for the wind industry such as ladders, elevators, hoists, fire suppression, lighting or meteorological equipment.
