Cox recognized by cable diversity program

Cox Communications has been recognized as the Best Operator for Women in Cable by Women in Cable Telecommunications, the seventh straight year for the award.

The WICT Forerunner Accolade is awarded to one cable operator and programmer each year, based on the results of the seventh annual WICT PAR Initiative, conducted in collaboration with Working Mother Media.

PAR examines and ranks participating companies in the cable telecommunications industry according to three criteria: pay equity, advancement opportunities and resources for work and life support.

"WICT's PAR Initiative identified impressive gains for women in several areas and Cox continues to place high value on diverse hiring and development as it seeks to acquire and retain the best talent in the industry," said Kimberly Edmunds, senior vice president and general manager of Cox Kansas/Arkansas.
