The state's corn harvest remains behind the five-year average, but recent dry weather has allowed it to make some gain.
Eighty-nine percent of the corn had been harvested going into this week, according to the Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service. The five-year average is 99 percent.
In south central Kansas, 96 percent of the corn had been harvested.
The state's soybean harvest was 90 percent complete, trailing the five-year average of 97 percent.
Seventy-nine percent of the milo had been harvest, well below the five-year average of 95 percent.
