A Mulvane company specializing in educational financial aid consulting is returning to Wichita.
Deborah John & Associates has purchased the former administrative offices of the Kansas District Assemblies of God Church at 3000 W. Kellogg. Christi Howell of J.P. Weigand & Sons brokered the deal. Sales price was unavailable.
The company, which processes grants and financial aid applications for schools ranging from career colleges to vo-tech schools, began its move Thursday and plans to be open Tuesday, John said. DJA does not work with students, she said.
"We work with schools that contract with us to process these applications," she said. "Please stress to people that we don't work with students. When I tell people what I do, I tell them accounting for colleges because everyone's got someone in school."

John, a former financial aid administrator for a large chain of private career schools, founded the company in 1988 in Wichita. It has more than 150 clients, including career colleges and online universities, from Washington to Florida, according to the company Web site, www.gotodja.com.
She's returning the 40-employee company to Wichita for expansion possibilities.
"It's a great building," she said. "There wasn't that kind of space in Mulvane, and it opens up the job market to us a little bit."
John plans to add about five more employees immediately, she said, and the employment numbers could double to 80 if the company can successfully add some community college clients.
The three-story building, built in 1963, has a little more than 19,000 square feet. The property includes more than 60,000 square feet for possible expansion.
