Kelly Aerospace sold to Connecticut firm

First Aviation Services, in Westport, Conn., is buying Kelly Aerospace Turbine Rotables in Wichita, the company said.

The agreement is scheduled to close Nov. 24. The Wichita facility's name will change to Aerospace Turbine Rotables.

Kelly Aerospace Turbine Rotables is a division of Kelly Aerospace, based in Montgomery, Ala.

The Wichita facility employs about 50 people and is located at 3414 W. 29th South.

The business opened in the 1970s in Wichita as Aero Electric. It was sold to Kelly Aerospace seven or eight years ago.

The facility provides overhaul, exchange and repair services for airframe components on general aviation turbine and piston aircraft.

It specializes in landing gear systems, hydrostatic safety equipment services and hydraulic and electrical components.
