Health Care

Chryseis Casanova has joined Bluestem PACE as the intake coordinator. The company assists seniors with medical needs so they can remain in their own homes

Dr. Chelsea Peyton has started work at the East Wichita Hearing Group location.

Seven business and community leaders have joined the Board of Trustees of Mark Arts: David Bengtson, attorney at Stinson Leonard Street; Rebecca Bunting, community volunteer; Milt Dougherty, head of school at The Independent School; Mark Eaton, president of Great Lakes Polymer Technologies; Angel Gomez, director of guest sales and service at Celebrity Cruises; Doug Pringle, president of the K.T. Wiedemann Foundation; and Christine Voncannon, community volunteer and Designing Women executive chairwoman.

Ellen Voran of Hesston will be presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award by LeadingAge Kansas for her work with Schowalter Villa in Hesston. Phyllis Terbovich of Newton will be awarded the Caregiver of the Year Award for her work with Schowalter Villa. The awards will be presented at a luncheon later this month. LeadingAge Kansas is an association of nearly 160 not-for-profit aging-services providers.

Mark Mannette, theater director at Newman University, has been elected as the new president of the board for Music Theatre for Young People.


Marty Rothwell, director of programs for The Arc of Sedgwick County, received the 2016 Heartland District of Civitan International District Citizen of the Year Award during its recent convention in Wichita. Also honored was Harold Connell, president of the Civitan Club of Wichita, who was named Heartland District of Civitan International’s District Civitan of the Year. Lora Neal, with Citizenship & Immigration Services, was honored as Heartland’s New District Member of the Year.

Josh Bellamy has joined Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty as the lead auctioneer for the Brown & Hoyer Group. Bellamy will head up the new Auction Division of the Brown & Hoyer Group.
