Cargill to market Australian beef

Cargill Food Distribution, a unit of Cargill Meat Solutions in Wichita, has agreed to market Teys Australia beef to American consumers.

The Australian-raised cattle is both grass-finished and grain-finished, including Angus beef. Teys manages every aspect of beef production, including ranching, feedlot, meat processing and distribution. It will be moved through Cargill’s nine food distribution centers to customers.

“Teys is a known and trusted Australian beef processor that has built its reputation for offering quality products over the past 67 years, and Americans will now be able to enjoy those items without having to travel Down Under,” said John Niemann, president of Wichita-based Cargill Food Distribution, said in a statement. “We have a long-standing business relationship with the Teys family, and believe Americans will embrace their company’s beef products when they have an opportunity to try them.”
