An unidentified man grabbed numerous Wichita State “Play Angry” T-shirts from a rack at a northeast Wichita Dillons store and then made a fast break for the door Monday afternoon, police said.
Before he drove away with the stolen shirts, however, a customer who saw what had happened reached into the vehicle and retrieved several of them, a police document said. The theft was reported at 4:40 p.m. Monday at 3707 N. Woodlawn.
The man grabbed the shirts from a rack near a front entrance, Lt. Doug Nolte said. The stolen shirts were worth about $300.
An unidentified woman was in the passenger seat of the suspect’s vehicle, according to the police document. The customer who tried to retrieve the shirts also provided police with the vehicle’s tag number.
