A veterans group will have an exhibit on display Saturday that marks the 50th anniversary of the United States’ buildup in the Vietnam War.
The exhibit will be on display all day at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at the Bradley Fair shopping center, 1920 N. Rock Road, said Jim Dennison, of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Escalation of the United States’ involvement in the war started in 1964, he said.
The display will include what U.S. service members ate, what they wore and some of their equipment. There won’t be any weapons in the display.
“Kids have seen enough of that,” said Dennison, who said he served in Vietnam in the Air Force.
Music heard by military over Armed Forces Radio will also be played.
