Property owner finds marijuana plants growing on property, say sheriff’s officials

The owner of property in the 17000 block of West Central found marijuana plants growing on the property on Monday, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputies found marijuana plants growing near a barn on the property, and being dried inside the barn. Deputies collected more than 300 plants for destruction.

No dollar amount on the value of the plants was determined, said sheriff’s Lt. David Mattingly.

Mattingly asked that anybody who has information about who was cultivating the plants contact investigators at 316-660-5300, or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
