Man convicted of first-degree murder in fatal Oaklawn robbery

A Sedgwick County jury has convicted a Wichita man of first-degree murder for his role in a 2011 robbery in Oaklawn that resulted in the shooting death of one of the victims.

Nicholas Dupree, 29, was one of five men charged in the Dec. 14, 2011, death of Markez Phillips. Wichita police said Phillips was visiting his girlfriend when a group of men forced their way into the home and shot him before leaving with three big-screen TVs.

Dupree will be sentenced Nov. 15.
