Wichita police are investigating a couple’s attempt to sell a PlayStation late Monday night at a local convenience store.
A 19-year-old woman and her 18-year-old boyfriend agreed to meet two men at 10 p.m. Monday night at the QuikTrip at 625 S. Hillside, according to Lt. Joe Schroeder spokesman for the Wichita Police Department. The couple had posted on Craigslist, police said.
While the two were showing the PlayStation to the men, they both got into the car of the potential buyers, Schroeder said.
“When the female got out of the car to speak to her boyfriend, the suspects backed the car up and she was struck with the car door,” Schroeder said. “The suspects then took off with the PlayStation without paying for it.”

Schroeder said it was good the individuals agreed to meet in a public location, but to always use caution — especially when getting into vehicles with strangers.
“It just proves things can happen,” Schroeder said.
Schroeder said police would be following up on the robbery through Craigslist and possible surveillance video from the store.
